How planning poker works
Planning poker (scrum poker) is an agile estimation technique used in sprint planning and backlog refinement. Each team member selects a card representing their effort estimate — usually Fibonacci numbers like 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13 — and all cards are revealed simultaneously. Simultaneous reveal prevents anchoring bias, the tendency to align estimates with the first number heard.
With Planning Llama, one person opens a room, shares the link, and the whole team joins in seconds. Add your backlog items to the estimation queue, work through them one by one, and the Sessions panel keeps a full history of every revealed round — including per-player votes and aggregate stats.
